CHALLENGE
The Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) work to maintain a productive and eco-friendly agriculture, fisheries and forestry sector by promoting sustainability and innovation. In the process they collect and monitor a wide range of data from industry players and this process presents three major challenges:
The size and complexity of the dataset means that it takes a lot of time to process and evaluate.
Data is isolated with individual farmers and is inaccessible because they use different monitoring software.
Real-time data processing cannot be utilised due to IoT development failure or a lack of software connectivity.
SOLUTION
We implemented our Internet of Things (IoT) platform to enable the DAF to monitor multiple companies’ information from a single application. The business intelligence and analytics tool allows access to real-time shipment data from connected systems and includes additional information around maintenance and servicing checkpoints. We also provide custom applications directly to the growers, enabling them to view shipment information, receive stock level notifications and even control connected devices in real-time.
RESULT
The DAF is empowered and is more efficient with their data processing, significantly streamlining their workflows. The enhanced connectivity of the platform automates the aggregation of complex datasets and unlocks real-time processing capabilities. Every point in the agricultural supply-chain is positively impacted by our platform and we’re working ongoingly with the DAF and independent growers to optimise their processes.
